[English] 문장 속에 의문형 내용 포함시키는 표현 (간접의문문)
우리가 평소에 말을 할 때 문장 속에 의문형 내용을 여러개 포함해서 말을 하는 경우가 있다. 예를 들면 “자, 우리 누가 무엇을 담당할지 정하자.” 라는 문장에선 “누가 무엇을 담당할지”는 의문형 문장이다.
- ~을 담당하다: be in charge of
Example
자, 우리 누가 무엇을 담당할지 정하자.
Let’s decide who is going to be in charge of what.
Let’s decide who will be in charge of what.
나는 누가 뭐라고 했는지 신경 안써.
I don’t care who said what.
어제 우리 사무실에서 누가 뭐 먹었는지 알아?
Do you know who had what in the office?
Shumin, 너는 누가 가고 안가는지를 파악해서 정확히 몇명이 될지 알아봐.
Shumin, you find out who is going and who is not and exactly how many people there are going to be.
(“몇명이 될지” 라는 말을 할 때는 “몇명이 있을지”라고 하는게 더 자연스럽다)
Shumin, 넌 이동수단 담당이야. 우리가 대여할 수 있는 버스가 있는지 알아보고, 있으면 언제 대여할 수 있고 비용은 얼마인지 알아내서 Kim한테 알려줘.
Shumin, you’re in charge of transportation. Find out if there is a bus (that) we can rent. and if so, when we can rent it and how much it costs and let Kim know.
혹시 우리가 먹을 수 있는 충분한 햄버거가 있는지 알아봐줄래?

너가 그 얘기를 어디서 들은건진 모르겠지만 사실이 아니야.

몇시에 출발하는지에 따라 달라.
It depends on what time we leave.
얼마인지에 따라 달라요.
It depends on how much it is.
우선, 우리쪽에서 실수가 있었던건지 알아보고 맞으면, 그때 가서 어떻게 할지 생각해보자.
