[English] ‘내가 알기로는’ / ‘내가 듣기로는’ 표현하기
평소에 ‘내가 듣기로는’, ‘내가 알기로는’ 이라는 표현을 쓸 때 ‘As I know’ 라고 쓰는데, 잘못된 표현이라고 한다.
1. 내가 알기로는
이 표현에 적합한 영어는 아래와 같이 여러가지가 있다.
- as far as I know (understand)
- based on what I know
- according to what I know
- To my knowledge
Example
내가 알기로는 그 영화 이번주에 개봉하는데.
As far as I know, that movie is releasing this week.
내가 알기로는 그 편의점 현재 문 닫았어.
As far as I know the convenient store is currently closed.
2. 내가 듣기로는
- from what I hear: 현재 이어져 나가는 이야기를 내포 할 때 (과거는 heard)
- I was told (that) + : 나에게 개인적으로 전달된 얘기에 대해서
Example
내가 듣기로는 이번주 출근 안해도 된대.
From what I hear, we don’t have to go to work this week.
내가 듣기로는 그 커플 어제 깨졌대.
From what I heard, the item broke up yesterday.
내가 듣기로는 James가 Lilly랑 사귄대.
From what I heard, James goes out with Lilly.

- As far as I can tell (여기서는 tell은 판단하다 라는 의미)

Example
내가 보기에는, 타이밍이 문제였어.
The way I see it, the timing was the problem.
내가 보기엔 슈퍼에서 일하는 사람을 걔 (여자)한테 소개시켜 준게 문제였어.
The way I see it, setting her up with somebody who’s working at the grocery shop was the problem. (set A up with B: A에게 B를 소개시키다)
